The STAR Framework gives families, educators, policymakers, and the community the opportunity to broaden understanding of school performance and growth and to share common data across schools. The STAR Framework is designed to help school communities celebrate successes, focus discussions, identify areas for support, and inform strategic planning.
The School Transparency and Reporting (STAR) Framework is DC's school accountability system. Schools receive a rating of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being the highest, based on their performance across multiple metrics. A school that does not meet the minimum population size to generate a STAR rating is shown as 'Not Applicable'.
